Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 19, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how SynoPhotoBackup ("the App") handles information when you use the App.

1. Overview

SynoPhotoBackup is designed to transfer photos from your iPhone or iPad directly to a Synology NAS that you configure and control. The developer does not operate a cloud storage service for your photos.

2. Information the App accesses

3. How information is used

The App uses this information only to provide its core functions, including connecting to your NAS, determining which photos should be uploaded, transferring those photos, recording upload progress, restoring purchase status, and displaying diagnostic information to you.

4. Where photos are sent

Photos are sent to the Synology NAS destination that you configure. They are not uploaded to servers owned or operated by the developer.

5. Data collection by the developer

The current version of SynoPhotoBackup does not include advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or developer-operated analytics services. The developer does not sell personal information.

Unless you voluntarily contact support and provide information, the developer does not receive your photos, NAS credentials, photo-library contents, or local app logs.

6. Diagnostics and support

Diagnostic logs may be stored locally on your device to help you understand upload activity. If you choose to export or send logs to support, the information you provide will be used only to respond to your request. You should review exported logs before sharing them.

7. Data storage and security

NAS credentials are stored using iOS Keychain where supported by the App. Other preferences and operational records may be stored in the App's local storage. Network security also depends on the NAS address, certificate, protocol, network, and configuration you choose.

8. Data retention and deletion

Local App data remains on your device until it is removed through the App, reset through available settings, or deleted when you uninstall the App, subject to normal iOS behavior and backups. Data already uploaded to your NAS is controlled by you and must be managed directly on that NAS.

9. Permissions

You can change photo-library and local-network permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Disabling permissions may prevent some features from working.

10. Children's privacy

SynoPhotoBackup is not directed to children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Third-party services

Apple may process purchase and App Store information under Apple's own privacy policies. Your Synology NAS and any network or remote-access services you configure are governed by their respective providers and your own configuration.

12. International use

Your information may be transferred to the NAS location you choose. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the App and NAS complies with applicable laws and organizational policies.

13. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the App's features or data practices change. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are made.
